Heritage Hill

Norman and Scott detail an alleged haunting which took place in an apartment located within a "handsome postbellum house, of Georgian Revival style" on Heritage Hill. It was later identified as the Phillips Mansion, and was built by James T. Phillips, the founder of the Grand Rapids Clock and Mantel Company.

The phenomena started when the young woman moved into the apartment in 1972. Effects included the visual appearances of a young man with blonde hair, an old woman and intense bright light. After she moved out, successive owners allegedly experienced paranormal activity.

Others reported the apparition of a man in Edwardian-style clothing. Footsteps and bangs were heard, furnishings moved, physical pushes experienced.
